This area offers a wide range of laboratory analyses based on isolation and identification of bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites by microscopy, culture, ELISA (antigen detection), MALDI-TOF (matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry) and PCR. As required, bacteria and yeast resistance testing can follow.
